VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy

The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy is a substantial vocational qualification that will prepare you for a career as an aromatherapist. This qualification is designed for learners aged 16 years or over and will support you to gain employment as an aromatherapist, as the units contained in this qualification cover all the skills and knowledge required for this role. 

This is a vocational qualification and includes all the required elements to work effectively as an aromatherapist including mandatory units covering the following: knowledge and understanding of complementary therapy concepts, business practice, anatomy, physiology and pathology for complementary therapies. You will also develop your understanding and practical skills to competently provide aromatherapy services. 

Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety, client care and essential oils. You will develop a range of technical skills enabling you to blend essential oils in a tailor-made fashion for each client and provide relaxing aromatherapy massage treatments using different massage techniques. You will also develop interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients. 

What could this qualification lead to?

This qualification will confirm your competence for employment as an aromatherapist. You will also be eligible to join a professional association and gain insurance as an aromatherapist.. Career opportunities as an aromatherapist exist in a variety of contexts, including:

– Working in the NHS in hospitals and care homes
– Working in a commercial complementary therapy clinic, beauty salon or spa
– Working independently/self-employed/mobile/home-based settings

This is the only VTCT qualification in aromatherapy at level 3.

Who supports this qualification?

This qualification is based on the complementary therapy National Occupational Standards (NOS) and is recognised by the UK’s leading professional association, the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) as being fit for purpose for preparing you for a career as an aromatherapist.. Holders of this qualification are eligible to become a professional member of BABTAC. Further information on BABTAC membership can be found here.

Duration:

8 Sessions (9.30am – 3.30pm) plus home study 

Entry Requirements: 

You must be over 16 years age, have a good level and understanding of English.

Pre-requisites: 

Knowledge of anatomy and physiology via a suitable qualification otherwise the Level 3 Certificate of Merit in Anatomy and Physiology will need to be taken in conjunction with this course (Please contact WSBHT re A&P)

Cost: 

£1850.00 

Once you have successfully completed the course, you will receive the VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy.
