What you will learn: This course is designed for students that have a strong enthusiasm for make-up, and those who would like to gain more experience and tips on application for their own use.  This would be an excellent course for someone wishing to provide make-up for weddings and other special occasions; or for hairdressers and beauty therapists who wish to extend their skills. During this course, students will learn a variety of professional make-up techniques to enable them to feel confident when creating everyday fashion and special occasion looks.

What you can do with this course: While on the course, your tutor will assess you; the assessment will reflect a realistic working environment and you will be expected to work on fellow students and other models in order to achieve the course qualification.  In addition you will need to compile a portfolio of evidence; the portfolio supports your practical skills  and shows that you understand the theoretical concepts behind the practical tasks that you are able to carry out.

What can you do with this qualification:

This qualification may lead into employment as a bridal/high fashion/photographic make-up artist.

Once you have successfully completed the course, you will receive

VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Fashion and Photographic Make-Up

Duration: 12 days plus theory and practical to be carried out at home

Pre-requisites: Level 2 qualification in beauty therapy and/or a successful skills test and interview

Cost: £3345 (Funded on 19+ Learner Loan) OR £2,600 paid privately.

Course Overview: The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Make-up Artistry is a substantial vocational qualification that will prepare you for a career as a make-up artist. This qualification is designed for learners aged 16 years or over and will support you to gain employment as a make-up artist, as the units contained in this qualification cover all the skills and knowledge required for this role.

Entry onto this qualification can be via previous attainment of a Level 2 qualification in beauty therapy and/or a successful skills test and interview. This is a vocational qualification and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a make-up artist including mandatory units covering the following: applying make-up, instruction on make-up, fashion and photographic make-up, media make-up, camouflage make-up and promoting products and services. You will also have the opportunity to further develop your understanding and skills by selecting a number of optional specialist units which include: airbrush make-up, mehendi, styling and fitting a postiche, displaying stock to promote retail of products.

Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety, client care and cosmetic products and equipment.

You will also develop a range of technical skills enabling you to prepare the skin and apply a variety of make-up products using different techniques. You will also develop interpersonal skills, which will assist you to communicate effectively with clients.

Duration: 5 hour workshop

A wedding is the perfect limelight to reveal inner beauty and showcase a bride’s personality, and this workshop provides expert guidance on carrying the creativity of the wedding theme through to the hair and make-up.

This workshop will be delivered by a Professional Make-up Artist who will guide you to take your bridal and photographic make-up skills to the next level and learn basic bridal hairstyles.

This workshop is specifically designed for any beauty therapist or hair/make-up artist that wants to add to their current skills. You will need to bring your own hair/make-up kit including make-up brushes, heated appliances (tongs and/or straighteners), a pintail comb, a range of hair brushes (if you have them), section clips, hair grips and pins, hair spray and anything you feel is suitable for this bridal workshop.

Please note: You will need to bring your own model for part of this workshop

This professional bridal hair & make-up workshop provides a clear insight and basic training for success. Each student is guided by an experienced tutor, through a carefully considered and specific balance of practical, theoretical and working simulations.
